What is the Legacy Project?

The St. Demetrius (Ukrainian Catholic) Development Corporation launched a one-year initiative to capture and preserve the diverse life experiences of our residents and to provide a vehicle for sharing them with younger generations called the Legacy Project.

Seniors were partnered with a volunteer or family member to conduct a personal interview with the senior. The volunteer or family member recorded the story which is, placed in the legacy book. Although our residents are all part of the Ukrainian Canadian community, each resident brings a unique and diverse story to the project.
